It has been painful. So far, we survived six months’ worth of uncertainty and additional challenges to our soul and psyche. For a majority of us, coping and getting by are not working effectively as we hoped.

I keep hearing from those who had to travel for essential purposes. Flights are up to half capacity, now that no one can sit in the middle seat of each row. Masks are being worn – except for a few instances caught on social media. Hotels are mostly open. Rental car agencies are still providing vehicles to the few travelers out there.

This has prompted continued responses from governments and the automotive industry to try to stem this virus from doing further damage to society and the economy.

COVID-19 Update: Ford, FCA to The Rescue

Ford announced on Tuesday, March 24 that they will start producing more than 100,000 plastic face shields for “medical professionals, factory workers, and store clerks” per week at one of their assembly plants in Michigan. They will also produce ventilators, as well as Powered Air-Purifying Respirators, for patients, healthcare professionals, and first responders, as well.
