You might say that this year’s ballot may have justified using the term “Vehicle” instead of “Car” for #VOTY.
The 1950s provided a glimpse into the future. The Soviets blasted off into space, which was inconceivable at the time. We were flying in faster jet-powered airliners, plugging in guitars, basses and everything else in our music. We even saw a nation that could possibly be integrated and united.
We must remind ourselves that a pickup truck was originally intended to be put to work. That is regardless of its size and whether it is built on a frame or in a unibody. For example, midsize pickup trucks were originally seen as the perfect size to do the job in more concentrated settings where parking spaces were at a premium.
The vehicles I want to go over were mentioned in passing on some articles – or, not at all. These represent vehicles that I drove for a very short stint at some event or another. Yet, they yield some headline because of their significance. Or, because you asked me privately whether I have driven it or not.
